PAINT OUT! Walter Jones Historical Park
Paint around the Walter Jones Historical Park and Mandarin Museum in preparation for our Exhibit in August! Paint the historic buildings (a farmhouse homestead, 1876 Barn, a winery building, the Museum building and the Schoolhouse) and the grounds of the Walter Jones Park. There is also a beautiful boardwalk with views the St. Johns River. Several days are scheduled in the next month for group painting, or you can paint on the property anytime the Museum/ park is open! Museum Hours; Wed – Sat, 10am-4pm. A docent is available for private tours of the Historic Buildings during these hours (Suggested donation $7/person) and is very interesting!
Also included in the Exhibit, are locations of other historic sites in Mandarin… The Store and Post Office is located a mile past the Museum at 12471 Mandarin Road. The store and the post office have a rich history which is on display inside, and well worth a visit when it is open to the public -the 1st Saturday of each Month, 10 am – 2 pm, so mark your calendar for July 5th!
The historic “Brown Home” is across the street from the Store and is also a site that we can paint at anytime. 12530 Mandarin Road. The home is occupied, but owners are open to us painting on the property at anytime. Please be respectful of their privacy and generosity.
