Deadline to enter online for A Moment in Time, America 250
This is a juried (online) and judged show open to all paid members of FCPAP. After the paintings have been juried, about Feb. 26 notifications will be sent out as to which have been juried into the show. The judge/juror is Mary Hubley.
- Work that has been in a previous FCPAP shows IS permitted and CAN be more than 3 years old.
- Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 2 Honorable Mention awards.
- The Lightner Museum does not take a commission on sales
- The focus of this exhibition is to celebrate the First Coast. Locations may be historic sites, buildings or simply scenic. Send a short paragraph describing the location, and significance of this site to Florida. If historic, it might be the home of a historic person or event. If scenic, it may depict native FL plants, an event, an industry or other significance. For example, American Beach for its history, St. Johns River for it views as well as a form of transport of goods in the day, Spring Park for its healing properties of the sulfur spring, the Old 1890 Jail in GCS, Olustee Battlefield for its place in the Civil War, the military bases, forts, parks and ports. Beaches, rivers, marshes and woods all have recreational and environmental value.
Preparing to Enter:
- Up to 3 entries are allowed per member.
- For the cohesive appearance of the exhibit, only 2 frame sizes are permitted, either 11”x 14” and 16”x 20”. Also the frame must be plein air style and either black or gold.
- Ensure all artwork has been done Plein Air with only minor touchup done in the studio.
- Ensure that your painting is dry before drop-off.
- Paintings must be framed well and ready for hanging with picture wire, D-rings, no saw tooth hangers. If framing is not secure or frames are in bad shape, they will not be accepted.
- Fill out the labels in this prospectus and tape to the back of your entries.
Entering Artwork:
- Submit entries on the FCPAP website no later than Feb 22. The fee is $15 per entry.
- Send your paragraphs (see above) about entries to Carron Wedlund NLT February 22. Know that the Lightner staff may edit the paragraphs.
- Tape the label securely to the back of your painting before delivery.
- Deliver accepted entries to the Lightner Museum entrance on Granada Street, March 3, 10:00am -12:00pm.
